PRESS RELEASE June 2008
a9ent0ran9e – A tour-de-force of Nu-skool Breaks taking in influences from Electro, Cinematic soundscapes, Funk, Dub and Acid House.
Currently picking up fans and industry attention for his DJ sets and production work, playing alongside artists from Funkatech, Twisted, Sinister, and Liquid Records, he was recently voted winner of The Rising Stars competition, bagging himself a set at Sunrise Celebration 2008 and more recently Waveform – two of the UK’s top sustainable music festivals.
More recently a9ent0ran9e has appeared on the same bill as Sister Bliss, Utah Saints, Jaguar Skills and Dj First Rate.
a9ent0ran9e’s second release this year, ‘Menace 2 Sobriety’ shows a darker, moodier and more urgent side to his sound.
Dramatic, twisted atmospherics rise and fall, giving depth to a block rockin Break before a Tech Funk Bass punches in with lazer hits to provide a heavy stomp. As the track breaks down, things start to get twisted as sounds start to bend over the relentless driving bass that rushes at you from a distance whist electric guitar licks ring out like a warning.
Digital Promos Breaks Chart No 7 Sept 2008
‘EVIL!!! great sound, phat synths, killer groove!!’ – Andrea Lai
‘Cool breaks… love to hear more’ – Crystal Method
‘Cantiakai’ awakes to an electric sunrise dripping with acid dew before a wide subby bass rumbles over the horizon to carry the listener away.
The sound of a positive trip on a sunny day with dub style guitar, acidic arpeggios and distorted leads, ‘Cantiakai’ has an air of embarking on a mission with assurance, positivity and determination.
‘Big room breaks with plenty of chemical attitude!’ – Simply Jeff
This track is also enjoying club and radio support in Europe and the US.
Fans of these tracks currently include FAR TOO LOUD, B-LINE, ED2000, THE DECKWRECKERS and BREAKNECK
